Engagement: Beatrice and Phillips

Robert and Kathleen Beatrice of Glenville
announce the engagement of their daughter
Melissa Beatrice to Glenn Phillips of Chittenango,
NY. Glenn is the son of Karen and Pete
Diefendorf of Canastota, NY and the late Rick
Phillips of Utica, NY.
The future bride is a 2003 graduate of
Niskayuna High School and a 2007 graduate
of Siena College, where she received a bachelor’s
degree in psychology. She is a 2010 graduate
of The College of Saint Rose, where she
earned her master’s degree in education. She
is a speech and language pathologist at James
Square Skilled Nursing and Rehab Facility in
Syracuse, NY.
Her fi ance is a 2005 graduate of Chittenango
High School and a 2009 graduate of Hobart College,
where he received his bachelor’s degree.
He is a 2011 graduate of LeMoyne College,
where he earned his master’s degree in teaching.
He is an eighth-grade English teacher at
Canastota Jr./Sr. High School.
Glenn popped the question October 7, 2012,
with the help of a daisy at Chittenango Falls. A
May 2014 wedding is planned.

Engagement: Burnell and Prime

LuAnn Burnell, announces the engagement
of her sister Penny Burnell, to Hawk Prime, son
of Calla Prime of East Middlebury, VT. and Peter
Greenlees of Worcester, MA. Calla is married to
Chal Shley.
Penny is the daughter of the late Priscilla
Alden Tracy.
The future bride is a graduate of Burnt Hills-
Ballston Lake High School and attended Spencer
Business and Technical Institute. She is employed
at Hyatt Place, Malta, NY.
Her fi ance is a graduate of Mount Abraham
Union High School and attended Champlain
College. He is employed by UTC Aerospace
Systems, Vergennes, VT.
An October 2013 wedding is planned.

Engagement: Brickner and Brown

Pauline and Frederick Brickner of Galway announce
the engagement of their daughter Kristie
Lynn Brickner to Erik Peter Brown, son of Jane
Shenk of Watkinsville, GA and Peter Brown of
Penn Yan, NY.
The future bride is a graduate of Western
Connecticut State University, where she
received her bachelor’s degree at Boston
University, where she earned her master’s
degree in energy and environmental analysis.
She is employed at AECOM-Chelmsford, MA.,
as an environment, health, safety regulatory
Her fiance received his bachelor’s degree
and master’s degree in industrial engineering
from Northeastern University, Boston. He
is a lean engineer for Deluxe Corporation,
Townsend, MA.
The couple began employment in the U.S.
after working as managers of the Manquipuncuna
Biodiversity Ecotourism Center, located
in the Andes Mountains, northwest of Quito,
