Police said the man entered the CVS at 613 New Scotland Ave. about 9:50 p.m. and handed a note to the pharmacist demanding narcotics. He then opened his coat, said he had a grenade and displayed what appeared to be a grenade that had a wire sticking out of it and a blinking light. The man said he would leave the device by the front door and would activate it with a cellphone if anyone tried to follow him.

The pharmacist turned over an undisclosed amount of narcotics to the suspect in a CVS bag along with the note, police said, and the man fled the store on foot.

The suspect is described as a white male, 200 to 230 pounds, wearing a blue hat, goggles with orange rims, a brown scarf covering his face, a brown puffy coat, green pants, a blue shirt and white shoes.
