— A city man has been charged in connection with a vehicle pursuit that injured an officer late Friday night.

Henry Jones, 45, of Van Voast Street, was charged with first-degree felony reckless endangerment, felony assault with intent to injure an officer, misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest, criminal possession of a controlled substance, driving while intoxicated and reckless driving and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

Jones was arrested just before 11 p.m. at the junction of Brandywine and Eastern avenues.

Police were pursuing Jones' vehicle along Brandywine Avenue around 10:45 p.m. Friday after they said he ran a red light. Jones then hit a marked cruiser head-on, and the officer inside reportedly suffered an elbow injury. The police vehicle also caught fire.
