— A Buffalo man was seriously injured early this morning when his motorcycle ran into a moose on the Berkshire spur of the New York State Thruway.

State police say 39-year-old Kim King was traveling east near the Massachusetts line when he hit a young 600-pound bull moose. Troopers say King was able to lay down his motorcycle so he didn’t hit the moose at full speed.

Police say King was taken by helicopter to Albany Medical Center, where he was listed in critical but stable condition with multiple fractures and internal injuries.

The moose suffered two broken legs and was put down by troopers.

So I was really really hoping that (after reading the headline), someone rode their bicycle into a moose. Oh, the imagery. Ahh well - hope you're back on your feet soon, Mr. King.
