— A section of Old Wolf Road remains closed after a possible hazardous chemical spill from a FedEx truck was reported this morning, town police said.

Authorities were first called at 9:40 a.m. after the driver reported smelling an ammonia-like odor, police said. The truck was carrying more than 20,000 pounds of chemicals that have not been identified.

Hazardous material crews from around the region responded to the spill, police said. The Northway ramp and intersections of Old Wolf Road and Route 155, and Old Wolf and Albany Shaker roads were closed, police said.

Police have not confirmed if any of the cargo from the truck spilled, but nearby businesses were evacuated, including the Koto Japanese restaurant.

Police said the driver of the FedEx truck was taken to Albany Medical Center, but his condition was not available.
