— Two teenagers have been charged with vandalizing 38 South Colonie Central School District buses Monday.

Police say Eric J. LaClair, 17, 12 Carol Ann Drive, and Thomas M. Hope, 18, who police said is homeless, broke into the district's transportation facility and set off fire extinguishers in the buses. The vandalism forced the district to cancel classes on Monday.

Police said the two were identified through student tips. Police could not confirm if the two are South Colonie students and said they are unsure of the motive because they have yet to talk to the two.

Each was charged with felony criminal mischief, as well as misdemeanor criminal trespass and criminal tampering. They are being held without bail in the Albany County jail.
