— A city teen admitted today to setting fires in two city buildings, including one with people inside.

Justin Swint, 19, formerly of 1210 Chrisler Ave., pleaded guilty to one count each of second- and third-degree arson, both felonies. He faces up to 16 years in state prison at his Aug. 12 sentencing.

The sentence, prosecutor Matthew Sypniewski said, was based on the two fires, and that, at the second one, three people escaped without injury.

“Based on the fact that we connected, through our investigation, two separate fires, the second a residential home in which three individuals were inside, we treated the case all the more seriously,” Sypniewski said.

Swint, 19, of 1210 Chrisler Ave., admitted to setting fire to the bedroom of his apartment on Jan. 21. Authorities said he had just been served with eviction papers.

In the earlier case, Swint admitted to setting fire to an abandoned three-story building at 710 Congress St.

In both cases, he is accused of using gasoline to fuel the blazes, according to papers.
