Shafer, Quinn lead Pats to 15-5 victory

Dante Shafer and Ryan Quinn both drove in three runs Thursday, helping Schenectady down Bishop Maginn, 15-5, in the Big 10.

Both Shafer and Quinn had a triple, and Quinn also doubled as the Patriots used a five-run second inning to build an early lead.

Chris Jeffers knocked in two runs for the Griffins.

Rob Tedesco and Brandon

Cesare combined on a four-hitter as Mohonasen edged Saratoga Springs, 4-3, in the Suburban Council.

Tedesco had two of his team’s base hits as the Mighty Warriors improved to 6-4 in the league.

Ben Cook cracked a double for the Blue Streaks.

Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk remained atop the Colonial Council standings, moving to 12-1

(14-2 overall) with a 20-1 win over

Mechanicville.

Garrett Frueh had three hits, knocked in two runs and scored two more for the Indians. Tom Dorr singled home Mechanicville’s run.

Ian Pingelski had a grand slam on the way to a six-RBI game, leading Cohoes past Albany Academy, 22-1.

Zach Ramsey added a 4-for-4 game, and Mike Welcome drove in three more runs for the 8-4

Tigers.

Brian McDonald’s home run accounted for the Cadets’ run.

Scott Fane had a five-hit game, including a pair of doubles as Lansingburgh beat Watervliet, 18-7.

Jordan Zareski added a two-run homer for the 8-5 Knights.

Phil Dayter knocked in three runs with two home runs for the 7-7 Cannoneers.

Bryan Wood, Justin Smith and Matt Weaver all homered as Galway bested Berne-Knox-Westerlo, 14-6, in the Western Athletic Conference.

Smith and Joe Migdal both had three runs batted in for the 7-6 Eagles.

Kevin Hanson drove in five runs in an 11-run fourth inning as Fonda-Fultonville downed St. Johnsville, 12-5.

Hanson did his damage with a pair of doubles.

Sean Myers added a three-hit game for the 10-3 Braves.

Eric Beninati had a double and two singles, getting Schoharie past Middleburgh, 10-5.

Steven Bouck had a two-run single for Middleburgh.

Mike Magazu hit a three-run double in a seven-run second inning, helping Hoosick Falls outlast Hoosic Valley, 13-12, in the Wasaren League.

Justin Blasi had three doubles and knocked in four runs for the Indians.

Kyle Seabury drove in a pair of runs, and Greenwich used a big seventh inning to secure an 8-1 Wasaren win over Stillwater.

Shawn Delancey and Sam Miller both had a pair of hits and and RBI as Corinth beat Hudson Falls, 8-6, in a non-league game.
