From her house to the race track, from New York to California, this girl is ready to race.

Her name is Alana, and BMX is her game. I asked her a few questions and here is what she had to say.

BMX is a sport where you race with bikes and do tricks. It’s a great sport for boys and girls. A few girls think that BMX is a boy’s sport. Well, they are wrong.

BMX is for boys and girls. “BMX is such an awesome sport,” Alana says. “I’m glad I chose it. I get to travel and meet friends.”

Q: How did you get into BMX?

A: I was watching TV and my brother sat on the remote and the channel changed to a BMX race. I just got so inspired, so I started BMX when I was 7.

Q: What’s your diet?

A: I have to eat less oily foods and stay in shape. It takes lots of energy to do tricks in BMX.

Q: What tips do you give to starters?

A: Do your best. You won’t get it on the first try, so don’t give up.

BMX is a great sport and it’s fun. Lots of people don’t know about it so I’m glad to have a friend who does BMX.
