BUFFALO — Gov. David Paterson is getting ready to bring New Yorkers up to date about the state’s financial problems — and he’s using words like “dismal” and “unfortunate.”

During a stop in Buffalo today, Paterson says he will detail the state’s budget deficit for this year and next on Tuesday. He says this year’s budget deficit is in the neighborhood of $1.5 billion dollars — which is even more than the $1.2 billion he was projecting just a few weeks ago.

The governor says nothing will be off the table when the state Legislature meets next month to address the crisis. He’s asked lawmakers to return to Albany Nov. 18 to cut spending.
