— A police officer suffered minor injuries Sunday as he was trying to arrest a man after a domestic incident.

Timothy Walsh, 48, of 18 Lily St., was charged with second degree assault, first degree reckless endangerment charges and driving while intoxicated.

Police went to Lily Street at about 7 p.m. Sunday for a domestic call and Walsh was leaving the property.

Officer Anthony Fasciglione asked Walsh to stop, but he refused and ran to his truck. Fasciglione approached him and asked him to turn off his vehicle and get out of the truck.

Walsh refused, according to police, and Fasciglione attempted to turn the vehicle off. Police said Walsh put the truck in reverse and backed at a high rate of speed out of the driveway, across Lily Street and into a neighbor’s fence while Fasciglione was hanging out of the driver’s side door.

The truck came to a stop after it hit the fence and a second officer arrived and helped Fasiglione take Walsh into custody.
