Candidate’s history and experience makes him the best choice for judge

It’s always nice when a decent, respected, dedicated member of our community steps forward to offer himself up for public office. We’re fortunate to have that person in Matt Dorsey, who is running for City Court judge.

Matt has the fairness, independence and experience we need for this important position. He’s experienced in the practice of law, dedicated to his family and community, and committed to doing the job and serving to the best of his ability.

In his private practice, Matt has handled virtually every type of case that falls within the City Court’s jurisdiction. Matt also served in the public sector as city attorney. In this role he oversaw the purchase of over 100 acres of open space, and revised the city’s outdated code of ethics.

Matt’s strong commitment to community service is evident in his longstanding membership on the Rotary Club’s Education Foundation. Matt also founded the Memory Walk to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Disease. This walk has been an annual event for the past 10 years.

It’s certainly refreshing to see someone like Matt, who is experienced, independent and fair, putting himself out there to seek public office. I think he’ll be a great City Court judge.

Elderly care facility has the right mixture of compassion, caring and understanding

How often do we hear “I don’t want to end up in a nursing home?” It’s a difficult decision to make regarding a loved one and is frequently wrought with guilt. For the past year our mother has been a resident of Maplewood Manor of Ballston Spa and she has received the best care imaginable.

The facility is pleasant with numerous daily activities and always clean. The menu is varied and nutritious with alternates always available to suit everyone’s taste.

The patient care staff are the real heroes. They treat the residents like family. They get to know each person individually and always take the time to consider that person’s needs. I’ve frequently noticed the staff holding a hand or giving a kiss on the cheek to a resident who may need a little attention. The staff goes out of their way to make family members welcome and keep us aware of health issues and humorous stories involving our mother.

Saratoga County is fortunate to have such a wonderful facility and these few words cannot express how profoundly grateful we are to the entire staff of Maplewood Manor, and especially the caregivers on B3.
