Auditions typically aren’t wonderful experiences for actors, especially when they don’t get the part. For Ted Deasy, however, showing his chops for director Maria Aitken was a blast. They were so much fun, in fact, that when Deasy got a third opportunity to audition for the role of Richard Hannay in “The 39 Steps,” this time for the national touring production, he didn’t hesitate for a second. The third time proved a charm as Aitken, who is also directing the national tour, selected Deasy....
