Eight indicted in Schenectady County on charges of cashing fake payroll checks

Eight people were indicted on felony charges this week for allegedly passing forged payroll checks at Price Chopper, the Schenectady County District Attorney’s Office said. The indictments come four months after a man pleaded guilty to federal charges in U.S. District Court in Albany, admitting he conspired to make counterfeit securities, an overall scheme that took as much as $120,000 from local businesses.
