Man to get 16 years after admitting to 2008 Albany rape
ALBANY A Troy man admitted Friday to raping a woman at knife-point, a case cracked by DNA, Albany County District Attorney’s officials said.
Allen R. Johnson, 47, of Troy, pleaded guilty in Albany County Court to one count of first-degree rape.
He admitted that in October 2008 he brought the woman to an isolated area in Albany, near Colonie and Water streets, then raped her at knife-point.
A DNA match on the state DNA database led to Johnson’s arrest last year, officials said.
In return for his plea, Johnson is to receive 16 years in state prison. He is to be sentenced June 8.
