Man to get 16 years after admitting to 2008 Albany rape

A Troy man admitted Friday to raping a woman at knife-point, a case cracked by DNA, Albany County District Attorney’s officials said.

Allen R. Johnson, 47, of Troy, pleaded guilty in Albany County Court to one count of first-degree rape.

He admitted that in October 2008 he brought the woman to an isolated area in Albany, near Colonie and Water streets, then raped her at knife-point.
