One person who continues to fascinate me is John Rickert of Niskayuna. Rickert runs an agency that represents professional athletes, called JR Sports Enterprises, and he also works through another agency, Authentic Athletix. His official website says, “JR Rickert is one of the most successful agents in the country today. JR represents over 100 professional athletes, entertainers, personalities, and performers and has negotiated over $250 million in professional contracts. From 2007-2011, JR has had a ...

there's no way anyone can do both jobs successfully. The tax payers and students deserve better.

Carl - Thanks for this info. I agree with you that it is amazing that he pulls this off...apparently, anyway. A man that can manage his life so well that he can be a full-time school principal, a major sports agent, and juggle a law suit all at once should be showcased on major news.

Please keep this guy on the front burner, Carl. I'd love to know why the school district is keeping this amazing man under wraps. What do the taxpayers think of this?

Rickert's been doing this for years and getting away with it. He's stealing from the taxpayers. May the new superintendent will do something about this situation.

It would seem his other income would dwarf his school salary. What does he need *that* for? Trying to build a pension?

Mr Rickert is a kind honorable man. Nisky prides itself on 'being best of the best.' This requires focussed, hard driving personalities as administrators. We should thank him for sharing himself with our kids.

What's different here than what Carl wrote two years ago??? I could see a new story if there have been complaints about his performance or availability at the school but we see none of that, just Carl wondering, "how does he do this?". Carl is terrific at digging up dirt but it doesn't seem like he was able to here, and that must kill poor Carl. Carl gets paid for stuff like this?? That's the story here!!!

Mr. Rickert depends heavily on his staff for the support he needs to make his position at both possible.
The fact of the matter Mr. Rickert shows exactly why many of these administrative positions need to be eliminated in the school districts around the country. He is there merely as a consultanat when needed.

Don't look for the school district to disclose anything on Mr. Rickert's amazing performance. Carl's gentle prying is legitimate, IMO.

Get a life Carl. There are 24 hours in a day. You have serious issues. Stop writing about how much you hate public sector employees.

What? You people never worked 2 jobs before? Mr. Rickert is a good principal and a good man. He attends just about every sporting event and concert at the school. This is not news. He's been doing this for years and doing it well. Give the guy a break. Just let him do his job, both of them.
