— Assemblyman George Amedore, R-Rotterdam, now has a lead in the race for the new 46th Senate District.

According to his campaign, a mistake by the Greene County Board of Elections on Election Day incorrectly put Democrat Cecilia Tkaczyk ahead by 139 votes in the entire district. Now Amedore has 10,253 votes in Greene County, up from 10,090 on the first count, and Tkaczyk has 7,187 votes, down from 7,217.

It is not clear when this review happened, as Greene County was not scheduled to review its Election Day votes until today, per a court order.

In reposne to the latest news, Amedore spokesman Kris Thompson said they were extremely encouraged and remained confident of their chances to win.

On Monday, Albany County is scheduled to begin counting its absentee and affidavit ballots.

A conference call is scheduled for today with the judge overseeing the county, the five county boards of elections and lawyers for both candidates.

This sucks. Amedore's group must have threatened to set someone's pizza parlor on fire.

Very good news. We're lucky to have a man like George, who has a thriving construction business, to represent us in the State Senate. He did a fine job in the Assembly and will do the same as a Senator. Go have a lot of support!!!!

Do the math...even if it's true, he is ahead by 54 votes; who cares?!? There are still over 10,000 absentees to be counted!
