Three Fulton County residents charged in alleged check-cashing scheme

— Three Fulton County residents have been charged in an alleged scheme involving fraudulent payroll checks, according to Gloversville police.

The suspects created the fraudulent checks and cashed them at local establishments. In Gloversville alone, the cashing of the checks resulted in the theft of more than $8,000, police said.

Suspects arrested and the charges they face are:

• Gloria A. Dillenbeck, 42, of 2813 State Highway 10, Caroga Lake -- criminal possession of a forged instrument, a class D felony; petty larceny, a class A misdemeanor.

• Bruce Jessop, 22, of 8 William St., Gloversville -- forgery, second degree, a class D felony; criminal possession of a forged instrument, second degree, a class D felony; petty larceny, a class A misdemeanor.

• Amy Johnson, 22, of 39 West St., Gloversville -- criminal possession of a forged instrument, second degree, a class D felony; petty larceny, a class A misdemeanor.

Police say more arrests are possible in the investigation.
