Inmate tries suicide in Albany County jail

An inmate at the Albany County Correctional Facility is in critical condition after attempting to kill himself, according to the Albany County Sheriff's Office. Stanley Haluska, 63, was found unresponsive Friday afternoon on the floor of his cell by a correction officer, who immediately began administering CPR. Haluska was then transported to Albany Medical Center, where he was listed Saturday night in critical condition. An investigation revealed Haluska had attempted to suffocate himself and was ...
