Suspect sought in Amsterdam gas station holdup
AMSTERDAM A man robbed a gas station Tuesday night but was unable to get the station’s cash register, police said.
Officers said the man walked into Slezak Bros., 170 Church St., around 8 p.m. He sprayed the clerk with an unknown substance and pushed her to the ground. He wasn’t able to open the cash register, so he grabbed a box containing an unknown amount of money and fled, police said.
He was last seen running away on Church Street.
Police described the man as 5-feet 5-inches tall with a medium build, wearing a brown, hooded sweatshirt, a denim jacket, a red bandana and jeans.
