— A state police trooper escaped injury this morning when her vehicle was hit by a teen driver allegedly using a cellphone on the Northway.

State police said Trooper Kandi Woods was responding to an accident in the southbound lanes just north of the Twin Bridges at 7 a.m. and had gotten out of her police cruiser when another southbound vehicle lost control, spun around through two lanes of traffic and hit the trooper’s car in the driver's side rear.

Logan Wollaber, 19, of Clifton Park, was given tickets for using a cellphone, improper lane usage and imprudent speed. Wollaber also was not injured, police said.
