Troy man sentenced for driving backhoe while drunk

Driving a backhoe while intoxicated will result in a Troy man spending six months in jail. Jesus O’Farril, 44, pleaded guilty in Albany County Court Wednesday morning to operating a John Deer backhoe on Central Avenue while drunk. On Feb. 1, police stopped O’Farril for failing to stay in the right lane. Officers noticed that O’Farril appeared to be intoxicated and had a strong odor of alcohol coming from his breath.
