Man gets 6 years for robbing Saratoga Springs cab driver
SARATOGA SPRINGS A 24-year-old Saratoga Springs man was sentenced to six years in state prison Monday for trying to rob a taxicab driver at gunpoint October.
Johntay L. Jones of 149 Grand Avenue was also sentenced to five years of post-release supervision in Saratoga County Court.
The Saratoga Springs Police Department received a 911 call on Oct. 23 from a Capitaland Taxi driver reporting he had just been struck in the face with a handgun and robbed in the area of the West Side Recreation Field.
Jones pleaded guilty to second-degree attempted robbery last month in Saratoga County Court.
In another county court case, Jennifer A. Gray of Tabor Road in Mechanicville was sentenced to six months in Saratoga County Jail and five years’ probation for fourth-degree grand larceny stemming from incidents between Dec. 15 and Jan. 2 in the town of Halfmoon.
