Unemployment rate falls in July in Capital Region

The region’s unemployment rate fell sharply this summer, according to the state Labor Department. In the Capital Region, the rate was 6.4 percent in July. This compares to 7.9 percent in July 2012. That means the job market is stronger in the Capital Region than in the rest of the state. Statewide unemployment in July 2013 was 7.5 percent.
