Greenfield man gets prison for molesting girl

— A Greenfield man will be going to state prison for sexually abusing a child, prosecutors said.

James T. Brockway, 43, of Route 9N, was sentenced by Saratoga County Court Judge Jerry J. Scarano on Monday to spend three years in prison and serve 10 years of post-release supervision.

Brockway initially was charged with sexual abuse and course of sexual conduct against a child.

He pleaded guilty in October to one count for an incident that occurred in January 2007 in Greenfield.

In other cases:

-- John J. Shannon Jr., 26, of Rowland Street, Milton, was sentenced Friday to three years in prison on a guilty plea to second-degree assault. He also will be under supervision for five years after his release. The assault occurred in Milton in January.

-- Lawrence P. Brisson II, 34, of Swan Street, Schenectady, was sentenced Friday to 1 1/2 to three years in state prison for first-degree criminal contempt. He was accused of violating a court order in both November 2012 and February 2013 in Clifton Park.
