Two men suffer stab wounds in Amsterdam fracas
AMSTERDAM Two men suffered stab wounds during an early-morning argument in Amsterdam on Thursday, according to the Amsterdam Police Department.
Police allege Judy Dove, 47, a girlfriend of one of the victims, stabbed her unidentified boyfriend and a friend of his who tried to break up the fracas at about 12:15 a.m.
Police allege Dove’s daughter, Christiana Owens, 21, struck the already-stabbed boyfriend in the head with a hammer during the incident, according to a news release.
Both men were treated at St. Mary’s Hospital for wounds that did not appear to be life-threatening, according to police.
Dove, of 36 Glen Ave., was charged with second-degree assault, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.
Owens, of the same address, was charged with second-degree assault.
Both Dove and Owens were arraigned in Amsterdam City Court and sent to the Montgomery County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
