Noah Arciero poured in 31 points to help Saratoga Springs stun Shenendehowa, 70-65, in a Suburban Council boys’ basketball game Friday night.

The Blue Streaks were without head coach Jack Brock, who has been placed on temporary leave from his coaching responsibilities due to the use of inappropriate language with the team. According to a press release from the school, that behavior is an infraction of the school district’s coaching handbook.

In Brock’s absence, the team will be coached by assistants Greg Goering and Damian Fantauzzi.

“This is an unfortunate situation,” said Saratoga Springs superintendent Michael Piccirillo. “We hold all of our employees and students to high standards of behavior, and they are held accountable when they fail to meet those standards.”

Brock is a physical education teacher at the Geyer Road Elementary School, and the coaching suspension does not affect his employment there.

Jesse Alexander and Nick Smith scored 13 and 12 points, respectively, for the 5-8, 7-8 Blue Streaks. Shenendehowa (9-3, 9-4) was led by Drew Zlogar with 17 and Dylan Molloy with 16 points.
