NRA’s arguments motivated by profits; others’ are just illogical I support the Obama administration’s plan to address all facets of the problem caused by the improper use of guns. The National Rifle Association, being a lobbying organization whose primary objective is promoting the sale of guns, advocates solutions in which the populace becomes more heavily armed and supports the view that Second Amendment gun rights cannot be limited. Do we want to live in a ...

I just did a quick Google search to see how the public polls about Obama's gun control laws. Every aspect of it has majority support - http://www.businessinsider.com/obama-gun... I also looked up CBS's poll... they say 54% support stricter gun laws - http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-250_162-5756...

dan: wmarinic stated a CBS LOCAL poll, which would indicate 93% opposition to the STATE law.

The poll you refer to, is for the FEDERAL law, and I would say both are pretty accurate.

But the topic of the letter is the federal law. Why would you just change the topic in comments? Anyway, where is the poll you're talking about? The only poll about the NYS law I can find is the Siena poll ( http://online.wsj.com/article/AP81ec84db... ) which says 65% of NYS residents support the new law.

Any bill slammed through the Assembly in the middle of the night is suspect especially when it restricts our fundamentally rights. Gov Cuomo's polling numbers are nose diving because of his overreach. This unconstitutional overreaching will be struck down in court. Most thinking people understand that criminals by definition don't follow new laws. Waste of time when this State should be focused on our fiscal collapse caused by decades of overspending and mismanagement.

Bizarre?????? Sure Howard. You and the other lefties ruining this state and country are all about incrementalism. Cuomo used the word CONFISCATION. Lets just pretend he didnt say that ok? The NRAs primary focus is protecting the rights of gun owners not selling guns. Thats a bizarre comment by you. Nothing can be discussed intelligently with liberals. They ignore logic, rational, common sense and integrity.
