Maybe it time for a NEW SCHOOL BOARD. This is a waste of time and energy. He said , she said. Who cares. If she is a good teacher. Does she not have freedom of speech? I say throw out the school board and let the teachers : TEACH. Big deal the kid was late and someone told him so. Some goody- too- shoe took it out of contex. let the Teacher teach.

I think something other than a firing is in order. But then I guess what the kids need and want is not number one with the board. And this is a school with what graduation rate????

This article is by kathleen moore so its more than likely facts are twisted or left out, however given whats written the school boards decision is ridiculous. A good teacher is one who can talk to kids in a way they can relate and understand. Also when are you peole going to wake up and realize kids need to be disciplined? They cant just do what they want when they want and have it be ok, thats whats wrong with our kids today. Again from the details provided here it sounds like the kid in question is fine and the school board is putting the pressure on him with the guilt of the firing. Listen to the people involved!

Too bad they didn't feel the same way about Raucci - does this mean that the coach is not an important figure in the CSEA????

I'm thinkin there's a lot missing here. Based on the details given, I'm guessing a disciplinary process was begun. The coach chose not to be part of it and quit. Based on student and parent comments, I hope she gets a better offer from some other system.

"School board members refused to discuss the matter openly, but scheduled a closed-door executive session.[...] Our personnel processes and procedures and decision-making, they are designed to provide openness...he said."

Huh?
