CAPITAL REGION Today’s storm has caused scores of events around the region to be canceled or postponed.
If you’re planning to attend an event today or Saturday, check with the event organizers or venue websites to see whether it’s still happening.
Here’s a short list of some events that are already canceled or postponed.
IMPROV SHOW CANCELED
SCHENECTADY — The improvisational theater group Mop & Bucket Company, has canceled its performance “Spontaneous Broadway,” scheduled for 8 p.m. today at Proctors Underground, because of travel difficulties caused by the snowstorm.
VAN DYCK SHOWS PPD.
SCHENECTADY — The Michael Benedict & Bopitude jazz shows, scheduled for 7:30 and 9 p.m. today, at the Van Dyck, has been postponed.
The show, which features Gary Smulyan on baritone sax, will be rescheduled for March 30. Call The Van Dyck for more information at 348-7999.
CAFFE LENA SHOW PPD.
SARATOGA SPRINGS — The Grand Slambovians performance at Caffe Lena, scheduled for 8 p.m. today, has been postponed. A new date will be announced later. Contact Caffe Lena, 583-0022, for ticket refunds or more information.
UNION EVENT CANCELED
SCHENECTADY — Pianist Shai Wosner’s concert at Union Colleges Memorial Chapel, scheduled for 8 p.m. today, has been canceled and will not be rescheduled. Call 388-6080 for more information.
BASEBALL TALK PPD.
SCHENECTADY — The Frank Keetz talk on the “Black Baseball Players, White Crowds: The Mohawk Colored Giants of Schenectady” originally scheduled for Saturday at the Schenectady County Historical Society has been postponed due to the snowstorm.
The talk has been rescheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23. The Historical Society is located at 32 Washington Ave.
The admission is $5 and free for members.
LITTLE LEAGUE SIGNUP PPD.
ROTTERDAM — The Schenectady JC Little League 2013 season registration originally scheduled for Saturday has been rescheduled to Feb. 16.
It will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Rotterdam Boys and Girls Club, Curry Road.
PALACE SHOW RESCHEDULED
ALBANY — The Black History Month Step Show scheduled for tonight at the Palace Theatre has been postponed to Sunday, Feb. 17, at 5 p.m., due to the storm.

HEAVENLY VOICES CANCELED
At Union College in Schenectady, Saturday’s annual concert featuring Union's Heavenly Voices gospel choir, local churches and the Heavenly Liturgical Dance Ministry in Memorial Chapel has been canceled due to weather.
The concert, free and open to the public, was among a series of events celebrating Black History Month.
HOME MADE THEATER CANCELS OPENER
SARATOGA SPRINGS — Home Made Theater’s opening night performance of “The 39 Steps” tonight has been canceled. The play continues through Feb. 24. For more information, call 587-4427.
ALBANY CIVIC CANCELS SHOW
