— Vermont folk singer Sam Amidon and comedian Al Madrigal are the first artists to be announced for this year’s Solid Sound Music and Arts Festival, taking place at MASS MoCA Friday through Sunday, June 21-23.

The festival’s organizers began announcing artists at noon today, and will continue to announce additions one at a time, alphabetically, every half-hour through today and Thursday. Check for updates. The full schedule will be made available Thursday afternoon.

This is the third Solid Sound Festival that Chicago alt-rock institution Wilco will curate following previous editions in 2010 and 2011. Previous years have included music of all genres, including past performances by Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore and gospel singer Mavis Staples, art exhibits related to Wilco, comedians and more.

Early bird tickets for all three days are currently available on the website for $124. Regular three-day passes are $149, while three-day passes for children ages 7-10 are $50 (ages 6 and under get in free). A limited number of single-day passes will also be made available soon — check the website for more information. Camping will also be made available this year at the Solid Ground Campsite, at $90 for a tent plot or $120 for an RV plot, good for Friday and Saturday nights, June 21 and 22.
