Suspects sought in Trustco robberies in Rotterdam, Guilderland

Police are looking for suspects in separate holdups of a pair of Trustco Bank branched late Wednesday afternoon.

Guilderland police said two suspects walked into the Trustco branch in Star Plaza on Route 20 about 5:50 p.m., and one handed a note demanding money to the teller behind the counter. No weapon was displayed and the suspects fled on foot with an undetermined amount of money.

Meanwhile, a man walked into the Trustco branch at 1400 Altamont Ave. shortly before 6 p.m. and walked out with an undetermined amount of cash, according to Rotterdam police. No weapon was displayed in that case, either, police said, and the man was last seen running north on Altamont Avenue.

The suspect is described as about 5-foot-5 with a medium build. He was wearing all black clothing, including a coat, hat, ski mask and gloves.

Anyone with information on the Rotterdam robbery is asked to call Rotterdam police at 355-7397, while anyone with information of the Guilderland holdup is asked to contact Guilderland police at 356-1501.
