Even though Union won a second straight ECAC Hockey regular-season title last year, there was one thing missing — earning points against Brown.
The Bears were the only team that won two league games from the Dutchmen last season. And earlier this year, the Bears rallied from a 3-1 deficit to earn a 3-3 tie against the Dutchmen. Goalie Anthony Borelli replaced starter Marco DeFilippo in that game and stopped all 16 shots he faced.
Union didn’t want that to happen again.
