Man stole $2,000 from Amsterdam store, police say

Police allege a city man stole more than $2,000 from a local store and deli he was working for. Louis Scott, 52, was charged with second-degree forgery, first-degree falsifying business records and fourth-degree grand larceny, according to a release from State Police. Police allege Scott was altering delivery invoices and skimming profits from Mohawk Dairy, a grocery store and deli on Forest Avenue. Scott faces a March 5 appearance in City Court, police said.
