Time Warner Cable’s local channels are back in service after experiencing an outage.

“Our engineers are aware of the outage and they’re working toward a complete restoration as soon as possible,” Time Warner Cable spokeswoman Jennifer Holick said earlier this afternoon.

The reason for the outages is unknown, she said.

The outage occurred around 4:30 p.m. in the Schenectady area, but users in Albany and Troy also complained of the outage on social media sites.

Time Warner has been my cable provider for many years. It is a shame with the impending competition from Verizon, that they cannot improve their services. On a daily basis now, we have been seeing on our cable service volumn coming in and out, pixelation and worst of all, rates being increased. Poor quality, poor programing does not equal rate increases.
