This is just the beginning. First, they will have citizens register their arms. Then the data will be cross checked & shared with medical, insurance and DMV and the like and the final outcome will be higher insurance rates for the new 'higher-risk' groups. Try getting a favorable rate on a mortgage if you own a gun. Auto loan rates just went up for your new 'risk' group. Get it? Law abiding gun owners will be penalized under the new system. I do not own guns. This is not about gun control. This new law is about control. And revenue enhancement for those so inclined to benefit by such things. Lastly, the ultra-paranoid in power may just as well begin confiscation of firearms because the strangle hold on individual liberties will become so great, that the powers-that-be will fantasize about an armed uprising and panic -- leading to the armed uprising! Then, the feared armed upraising becomes the dreadful reality. Maybe-- Let sleeping dogs lie, as they say? Nah, greed rules the day and corrupt politicians cannot resist the power. God save us from ourselves.
