SCHENECTADY COUNTY Schenectady County is warning residents to take precautions during the days of arctic-like temperatures and wind chills that the region is experiencing this week.
The Schenectady County Office of Emergency Management urges county residents to follow a number of safety tips to protect themselves and their families from freezing conditions.
Sub-zero conditions over several days can cause problems such as frozen water pipes and even dangerous situations, especially when care is not taken with heating equipment such as alternative heating sources. These include woodstoves, fireplaces and kerosene heaters.
