State must provide funds to keep helping neglected kids in court The League of Women Voters [LWV] of Schenectady County has had a strong interest in the court system and has supported many progressive programs, such as alternatives to incarceration, drug and mental health courts and the Integrated Domestic Violence Court. David, Its difficult to follow exactly what your point is. You seem to agree that people have the right to bear arms but then seem to imply they should not be on the same level as the Government. That's a convenient ploy used by the left to subvert both the meaning and spirit of an amendment listed as number 2 by the very people who bled to write it. Should the people have slingshots to oppose tyranny? Would that suffice for your understanding of the Amendment? Muskets maybe? Arms are arms. If they had wanted the people to have limits they would have said so. The British tried to confiscate their weapons and that's why its in the Constitution. Liberal cowards will never stand to stop the tyranny already started by other liberals. That task is left to the courageous who need more then flintlocks!

Re: Baum - To quote Will Oremus on Slate.com "Kindergarten Killer was most likely intended not as actual entertainment, but as trollish provocation aimed at those who would blame video games for tragedies like the Columbine shooting. In other words, the target audience was not kids, but people like LaPierre." and "His [Mr. LaPierre's] solution: more guns in schools. But wait: In Kindergarten Killer, the game that supposedly turns kids into mass murderers in the first place, every single person in the school is armed and fires back."

David Lucier -- Make no mistake about it !!! The law is the law, it was written exactly the way they intended it to be written. Do not spin , twist or interpet the 2nd amendment as you see fit. We as a nation have the individual rights to own and bear firearms. As in our right to freedom of speech!!! Or David do you wish to twist that right also. I do agree their is no room in this world for assault weapons, but until those weapons are 100% confiscated from the criminals I myself would like to equal the playiing field.

A militia (pron.: /mɨˈlɪʃə/),[1] or irregular army, generally refers to an army or other fighting force that is composed of non-professional fighters; citizens of a nation or subjects of a state or government that, often receiving little or hasty training, enter a combat situation, as opposed to a professional force of regular soldiers or, historically, members of the fighting nobility. Some of the ways the term is used include

I'm pro 2nd amendment, but face it, there is nothing you can buy, now, or ever, that is going to be able to take on an Apache attack helicopter, drone, or tank.

Some people are very passionate about gun control, one way or another. After listening to and reading all the rants from all sides, to me it comes down to one basic fact. Accept the fact that people will kill people, by whatever means, legal or illegal. Question is how "much" killing are we willing to agree is acceptable, regardless of the means.
