Pair arrested in Albany church burglary

— Albany detectives arrested two city residents for allegedly burglarizing a church on Sheridan Avenue.

At about 10 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to The Powerhouse City of Deliverance Church at 320 Sheridan Ave. for a report of a burglary.

When the officers arrived, the caller said someone had entered the building and stolen the church's musical equipment.

Joshua Berrien, 22, and Joseph Rochford, 26, both of Albany, were arrested in connection with the theft. According to police, they entered the church and stole several musical instruments, microphones, and speakers belonging to the church band.

Berrien was charged with burglary, grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, all in the third degree.

Rochford was charged with burglary and grand larceny, both in the third degree.

They were arraigned in the Albany City Criminal Court.

All of the items stolen during the burglary were recovered during the investigation.
