— Residents in Amsterdam’s 4th Ward are invited to learn more about grants of up to $25,000 being made available for home improvements.

The city recently received a $400,000 grant from the federal Community Development Block Grant program being directed toward the neighborhood encircled by Reid, Church, James and Hibbard streets.

Owner-occupied homes are eligible for up to $25,000 and rental units can receive up to $12,500 with a 50 percent match by the owner.

The program is being administered by the Amsterdam Urban Renewal Agency. People interested in learning more can contact AURA at 843-5190 or send an e-mail to amst.ura@gmail.com.

An informational meeting will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the meeting room at St. Stanislaus Church at 50 Cornell St.
