Man found dead in Niskayuna woods

A 62-year-old man was found dead in a wooded area in Niskayuna on Saturday. Michael Wallender, 62, was found by police officers near the intersection of River and Rosendale roads after a report was made to the Niskayuna Police Department. He had been reported missing Friday. Wallender reportedly lives about a quarter-mile from where his body was found. State police were called to the scene and will work in conjunction with town police to investigate. ...

RIP to a gentleman who apparently lived nearby and was an attorney for 30+ years. The big question is whether the death was due to natural causes (e.g. heart attack or fall while walking in woods, the Lishakill Preserve trails are nearby) or to some other cause.
