— Police are investigating a robbery Monday evening at the Trustco Bank in Congress Street Plaza.

At 5:40 p.m., Saratoga Springs police received a 911 call for a robbery that had just occurred at the bank.

Officers responded and secured the scene, began searching the area and interviewing employees.

The suspect is described as a black man, about 5-foot-10, dressed in black sweatpants with a white string hanging out, black zip-up hoodie and black baseball cap.

The suspect indicated to the teller that he was in possession of a handgun, but it is not known if he had a gun on him or how much money he made off with, police said. The suspect was carrying a gray Walmart shopping bag.

The suspect left the bank and was last seen headed south toward Hamilton Street.
