Car strikes gas pump, sparking a fire in Schenectady

A city man fleeing one accident scene caused another, barreling into a gas pump on Broadway and causing a small fire, police said. The fire happened early this morning at the Mobil Gas Station at 585 Broadway when a car driven by Steven K. Braxton, 21, of Poplar Street, struck the pump, police said.
