— Guy Anderson isn’t likely to live through half the prison sentence he was handed in Albany County Court Wednesday.

The convicted 35-year-old kingpin of a massive drug pipeline that moved pounds of heroin and cocaine throughout the greater Capital Region was ordered to serve 165 years behind bars. Judge Stephen Herrick also gave a lengthy sentence to 36-year-old Jamel Pearson — Anderson’s co-defendant and a member of Albany’s Original Gangsta Killas street gang — who received 87 years in jail.

Pearson and Anderson were the last two defendants to be sentenced following a 12-week-long trial that also resulted in the conviction of 27-year-old Michael Williams in May. Prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office, the case stemmed from a 261-count indictment that resulted from an 18-month multi-jurisdictional investigation throughout the Northeast.

There were also at least 27 incidents of gunfire associated with the suspects in the case, including two involving police and three resulting in fatalities. Authorities arrested a total of 52 people in connection with the investigation, most of whom entered plea agreements with prosecutors instead of going to trial.

Anderson was convicted of major trafficking and second-degree conspiracy, among other charges. Investigators said he was receiving drug shipments from Manhattan close to three times per week and repackaging them to be moved to lesser dealers throughout the Capital Region and Vermont.

Pearson was convicted of five counts of second-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, in addition to six other counts. Pearson had obtained a pistol and intended to exact revenge for the November 2011 killing of Richard “50 Cent” Gibbs in Albany’s South End, police said. Gibbs’ shooting death prompted authorities to hasten their investigation before any retaliatory violence broke out.
