— A Clifton Park man was indicted Monday on theft and welfare fraud charges because authorities said he got $31,668.44 in Medicaid services fraudulently.

Michael Faden, 44, of 6M Hollandale Lane was charged in Saratoga County Court with third-degree grand larceny, third-degree welfare fraud, fourth-degree grand larceny and seven counts of offering a false instrument for filing, all felonies.

Authorities said previously that Faden didn’t report income he earned from working when he applied for food stamps, Medicaid and temporary assistance from September 2008 through January 2012.

He was arrested in February 2012.

Also Monday in Saratoga County Court, Ashley M. Cortes, 23, no address given, pleaded guilty to fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.

Cortes was accused of selling crack cocaine in April in Corinth and is scheduled to be sentenced in August.
