— Police arrested a Schenectady man Wednesday night after they raided what they called a stash house for the man's drug trade.

Amsterdam police, along with the state police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team, executed a search warrant on a first-floor apartment at 251 Guy Park Ave. to culminate a three-month investigation into drug trafficking in the city. Police said they seized 1 1/2 ounces of uncut heroin - which had a street value of about $5,000 - a gram of cocaine and various paraphenalia used to package the drugs.

As a result of the search, police said they charged Samuel Gaston, 40, of 1086 Van Velsen St., with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony. Gaston, who police said is on felony probation in Schenectady County, was arraigned in City Court and sent to the Montgomery County jail without bail.
