Wow. Surprising outcome, but good for the people who's voices were heard. Don't blame Ms. Abele, though. Blame the hiring process and the people who decided she was the best candidate. Let the process carry on.

Indeed. I think the ONLY reason this matter was in the news, and that an complete outsider like me was aware of it, was the blatant appearance of dirty politics.
Now how about a follow-up investigation (Gazette? Saratogian? Anyone?) to what other slime has been slipped ny the tax-payers?

This was SO obvious it appeared complacent, and routine breeds complacency.

One other thing. I find it hypocritical that friends of the shelter would stop their fundraising if the appointment went through. You're not really doing it for the animals then, are you? Why would you punish them? I was also not in favor of the appointment, but I would never stop doing good for the sake of the animals.

Also noted that WRGB's coverage included a quick interview with Ms. Abele's father with absolutely no mention of his political links to the GOP in Saratoga. That connection is the essence of why this story is in the news.

Sloppy journalism, or collusion? You decide...

Hmm, I guess living in the county and voluteering for 3 years and having the business degree to run things doesn't matter. However if you are a supporter and don't like who is appointed it is not unjust to stop suporrting the animals who have no say, just a need. Go figure! If dogs read the paper i bet Busy Bones would be the favorite snack to chew on, Politics aside of course.
