Carl F. Liss, with the ammount of Natural Gas we have and even oil, we could be self sufficiant in 5 years and a gallon of fuel would be under $1 per gallon. The reason that does not happen is TAXES. NYS makes 69 cents per callon of gas in taxes. Lower the cost of fuel and you take their tax money. The government is too large, we could lay off half of most government ageccies and still have more than enough people to work them.
