Former Department of Public Works Coordinator Michael Griesemer used his position of authority to coerce a female subordinate into a sexual relationship at Rotterdam town offices and then unduly punished her after she broke it off, according to a civil rights lawsuit filed in federal court Monday. The lawsuit claims Griesemer, who resigned after the allegations became public in April 2012, started making sexual overtures toward Vicki Carrieri shortly after she became a clerk in ...

Clerk jobs are not that hard to find..why so desperate to stay in an unrewarding position? Sounds like there is more to the story....

Actually clerk jobs are hard to find within Schenectady County considering the nepotism slant that factors into almost every hiring that takes place. Civil Service is such a weakly veiled agency of supposed fair hiring practices, still the general public has no idea they do not stand a chance of being hired from a list for an "open" position for which they took a test for. However, every county employee knows they play hand in hand with the dirty political department heads' agendas and seniority or rank on a list means nothing.

Coercion of this sort is nothing new, it's rampant in many departments. The Democrats are quick to try to cover up for these indiscretions, lest their stellar repuations become tarnished. It is not uncommon for a small promotion or pay raise to be denied as retribution for rebuking unwanted advances. It's not the first time a case like this has come to light, and I can't imagine it will be the last. The ones from Rotterdam seem to be the worst.

Rotterdam Town Hall is the sleaze capital of the county. Things like this go on over there on a regular basis.

Why not pull yourself out of the political sector and into the private sector. Rewarding jobs are available for those willing to work hard to promote themselves and their employer. Better businesses in town will encourage better government.

paper, because with Rotterdam's "family and friends club" hiring practices, it's a much easier path to employment.........as long as you know someone on the inside and don't rock the boat it's a much less stressful and more lucrative path than the private sector.....rock the boat however and there are consequences.....a close look at who works for the town and their relationships, would make this very clear....

.....another example of what happens when you rock the boat in Rotterdam. The only board member who questions some of the decisions being made was conveniently left out of the official picture on the town's website......

The "more lucrative path" that doesn't sound good for us town residents..sounds like your part of the problem if your looking for higher wages as a civil servant. The"official photo" comment sounds a little petty to me. Man up and work hard to gain respect...if it's not there for you, look elsewhere.

"The "more lucrative path" that doesn't sound good for us town residents..sounds like your part of the problem if your looking for higher wages as a civil servant."........BINGO!!!!!...............sadly it's been this way for most of my 60+ years as a town resident..........what's even sadder, is it doesn't really matter who's in power....it always seems to turn out the same :(................. "Home of the Friends and Family Club" should be the real town motto...
