— Potratz Partners Advertising celebrated its grand reopening Thursday at 31 Lafayette St. with a ribbon-cutting hosted by the Chamber of Schenectady County.

Company founder and CEO Paul Potratz purchased the three-story building, which encompasses about 25,000 square feet of office and warehouse space, for $600,000 from Schenectady-based Benchemark Printing last year.

It was a considerable upgrade from the advertising agency’s old location: a 4,000-square-foot Victorian house on Union Street that had employees producing video out of bedroom closets.

The Schenectady-based ad firm provides digital marketing services to the automotive industry, producing ads, websites, social media strategy and more for various car dealerships.

Potratz employs 42 ad professionals, from graphic designers and search engine marketing managers to video producers and account managers.

The firm is Google Qualified and part of the Yahoo Ambassador program and the Microsoft Ad Network.

“Potratz Partners Advertising wanted to stay in Schenectady County because the county is a thriving area with the potential to achieve great things,” read a news release issued Friday. “The town and the county support small business, and because of this, Potratz has been able to grow and expand exponentially.”
